A few motor show’s ago, Peugeot unveiled something far funkier than anything they’ve ever produced. Now, as the Frankfurt show in September sneaks closer, Peugeots 308 RC Z has been spotted out and about in testing guise, ironing out the kinks before production.
Why all the fuss over a new Peugeot? Well, because it looks like this:

Now that, is a car worth getting excited about. It’s essentially a 308 with the best styling the French manufacturer have ever let flow from their pens. However, this 2+2 coupe looks set to take on the Audi TT when it hit’s Peugeot dealers across Europe in 2010.
Early reports on the testing car suggest that it looks close to identical to the concept car shown above and is looking certain to feature a 1.6 litre turbocharged lump beneath that well sculpted bonnet with mumblings of turbo diesels being heard too.
Having spent many months driving a Peugeot HDI around Kent (albeit in van form) I know first-hand just how well those turbo diesels can perform. If they get the engines and drive as right as they have the stying then Audi should seriously start worrying about the sales of their once-dominating TT.

Crikey, that actually looks good. Well done Peu-geot. That could turn out to be a nice car.
